[updated and edited by sora-sora] -- For ordered chaptering to work, place the main episode file and the OP/ED files in the same folder. If you open the main episode(ex: kodomo no jikan ep 2), the player will automatically load the opening and ending files. Notes:1. It's fine to rename the files, but don't do anything that will change their UID, such as remuxing the OP or ED files. 2. This works perfectly in Windows with Haali media splitter. You can install K-lite or CCCP codec pack. If it's still not working, check the haali settings: option->input->try to open linked files-> yes >>> I have personally tested OC in Media Player Classic - Home Cinema which is bundled with CCCP. It also works in VLC, although you might need to change the setting and make sure you have the option Pre-load MKV files in the same directory checked. -- To the Staff: Feel free to edit/update this.

vlc works just fine on win2000 ... but it doesn't open some mkv files ... Try Smplayer there it should solve the problem .... 3. this is working in linux with some help, i think using wine?
It means it doesn't work in Linux ... and I think in MacOSX it will not work too

i'm using win 2k and installed k-lite there, i encode and test all my encodes there since my win xp comp is really slow.. you must install with admin priviledge though.. that haali screenshot i took from win 2k , and vlc works perfectly there, i just hate that good subtitles become bad in vlc @val so you already confirmed it doesn't working in mac os? i don't have friend that using mac os

hey thanks for this it help me a lot on my wanting to give code geass hq an ordered chapter after reading this and serching the net finding the author(TheFluff) reading more on animesuki downloading the necessary softs (mkvtoolnix, mkvextractGUI, haali's GDSmux) a whole day of trial and error and finally figuring it out wow it sure gives a good feeling and for those wanting to try ordered chaptering "the tracks should be equal on all files, the order of the tracks should be thesame in all files, and the files should have thesame codec"

Don't use vlc. The newest version of vlc does support ordered chapters but it can't seem to load external files. It hangs when it reaches the transition point. At least mplayer ignores the chapters and lets you play the files w/o the op/ed, vlc just hangs preventing you from playing the file.

that's actually pretty bad ... I mean somepeople may think it's our encodes fault or that the files are faulty and not connect it with VLC Player ... If mplayer ever implement ordered chaptering I hope it will be turn on/off option just like ASS/SSA Styles are
