im using the same bencos. and notthing else.

what about the attached fonts? im pretty sure the subtitle effects would get lost if you encode it like that.

that why we like it softsubbed and in mkv format. these days however some groups attach 15-20MB of fonts so clearly filesizes would be somewhat bigger. most ppl care about constant quality these days and hence a lot of fansub groups have started using crf mode. very few groups still do 2 pass bitrate. in short, constant quality > constant filesizes.

well maybe you should try PspVC...
it has everything. any format ->Mp4 direct VobSub supported. but you need to play with the setting a little to get the right quality...
now im converting jojo bizarre adventure, original file size 320mb > 85-90mb and the quality 90% from the original.


and i have 1 problem using bencos. problem is:

i try to convert OGM file with dual language and the default is english.
so how do i set jap as the default language instead?

heh, they only thing better than megui would be to manually encode using just x264.exe
don't tell me which software to use, i have been encoding anime to minisize since 2004.

lol even i cant use just x264.exe. you need some programming skills to understand it. megui and handbrake are good enough for me

oops sorry for double posting.
i've been downloading some anime series and movie from this website(if you ask i'll let you know). they got good quality HD mini MKV (higher resolution) with series that sized only 50-60mb and movie around 200-300mb.

wtf! new bencos settings @ high.. 16 ref.. Is that too much?

as side not ref=16 will give you slightly bigger filesize (tested), same as bframe
me_range > 16 is USELESS unless you encode FAST PACED =>720p (tested), and much more
