I would be fine with the person PMing me and then to make sure they give me the credit for the encode.

I think it's ok...
see usamin post below:
This is perfectly fine Aveilein, what we meant by sharing here is posting our links in other forums/sites or downloading our encodes and re-uploading them in other forums/sites without permissions from the staff.

Ok, this rule is good because we do spend a lot of time, energy, effort and even money: download volume is not free for me.
And i can agree that its hard work for your pc because my previous one heated up too much and broke down, my new one is better and faster.

Show us respect and pm us when to upload to other sites, we try and promise that our encodes are always the smallest ones cool

Yes, I even saw Astroboy on tv way back in time.

as far as i know, encoders don't possess the right to own the shows they encode...
in the first place, fansubbing can be considered piracy...

then again, in "our world," it's "ethics" not to steal other people's works...which is why
giving credits to the encoder is manners...

^^
watermarking is not legal although by any means, it is also not illegal..
that is IF the encoder is not selling the files..
It is just a step in which you are preventing thieves in the net since it's very fluent nowadays..

NOTE: I do not encode for your conveniences.  Quality is my policy and so is filesize. I offer the clearest quality at the lowest filesize possible. Don't PM me for such trivial complaints about refixing and cutting OP/ED cause it won't matter to me. If you don't like my style, don't worry. My style don't like you too~

We claim no right on the animes that we uploaded....

but as a courtesy please ask before you share.

This is for all members:

Do not think that we as the staff here don't know where you share our encodes. Sometimes we just overlook it because you mentioned the source/encoder's name without claiming that the files are your encodes. We have extensive information network so be careful. Anyone caught on sharing without permission will possibly have their animestash account suspended depending on the severity of the offense.

There is nothing we can do about this site, as we don't know how they obtain our links. But they give credits to our encoders properly and also do not claim ownership of the files, so I guess is fine.

TBH the reason why I know stash is someone guy from other site put a link there. and it just happened that some link aren't working anymore so I do little "googling" and ended up here.

IDK, if he ask permission though.

If the situation get worst, it isn't hard (in mediafire atleast) to put a password on the "file/s" before you can download it, in that case the uploader get a little credit for the effort/s he/she done.

BUT, I hope it doesn't come to that.

Ah how this thread reminds of the notorious mangaPlus! sad where the admins steals freshly released manga from a translator's website and upload it to their website and to download said files, you have to register a premium account  sad.

Theoretically speaking  cool, this is bad for free anime sharing community. Without respect, we are doomed. Doomed means no anime. No anime means no hentai. No hentai means we can save a lot of tissue but this is just a minor rant  cheesy.

Needless to say, we just have to abide the rules set by the people who worked so hard to give us free anime. In the case of Animestash, though their's are in LQ format, you can't ignore the fact that you can save a lot of space on your hard drive and their encodes are close enough to the original. So good work to the staffs of AS.
