Summary:
The story starts with a young girl named Katara and her older brother Sokka finding a boy trapped in a sphere in an iceberg. After being unfrozen they learn the boy is Aang, the current Avatar and bender of the element air. Avatars are able to learn to bend all four elements and are tasked with keeping the peace in the world. He awakes to find the the Fire Country has declared war on the world in absence of the Avatar. Now Aang must travel in order to learn how to bend the other three elements and master them in order to defeat the Fire Lord and restore peace to the land. On his journey he experiences the highs and lows of human emotions and encounters many interesting people. Some friendly, other not so much.
